Mastaplex Ltd develops and markets the Mastatest system, a completely new approach to on-farm mastitis testing that is quick and requires minimal training. We are an exciting New Zealand owned business, recently recognised as a winner of the Deloitte Fast 50 regional Fastest Growing Agri-business. Mastaplex has successfully grown from a New Zealand startup to a company successfully marketing the Mastatest solution to more than 20 markets.
We manufacture our patented Mastatest cartridges in Dunedin. Dairy farmers and veterinarians then run tests on-site using one of our ranges of Lapbox IoT devices, designed and manufactured locally. Test results are then uploaded and validated through our AWS based cloud platform and result automation pipelines. Integrations are in place with other animal health platforms, web interfaces for our clients and worldwide distributors. A raft of exciting potential extensions and enhancements to our solution will round out our current platform.
How you’ll make an impact:
We are looking for a strong talented developer with excellent Python experience to join our team and push forward the next stage of our growth and development.
You will be joining us as we look to re-architect the core of our system in Python. Your experience developing and working in an environment where end-to-end CI automation is key will help shape our development practices going forward. With your Python experience you will be able to contribute across the full range of technologies our small team supports: hardware, ML/AI, data science, API and data processing.
What you’ll need to be successful:
Strong Python coding skills are a must - we are committed to moving to Python as our core development language and are looking for an experienced developer who has worked in Python in a variety of contexts.
We would then love some, or even all, of the following skills:
Devops and CI experience, and a willingness to help guide our software development ethos
Experience of Java and/or C# web development patterns
Experience with external API development, navigating all aspects of 3rd party integrations
Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems
Familiarity with deploying and automating systems
Knowledge with AWS security best practice
Front end UI design and development skills with a client-side JavaScript framework (if you find this of interest)
Hardware development experience, ideally with the Raspberry Pi family of products we embed in our on-farm solutions (if you find this of interest)
Data science, ML/AI experience (if you find this of interest)
Someone self-motivated to work flexibility on a wide variety of projects to succeed in a fast-moving startup atmosphere
