Elag ombouwen tot Code4Lib Europe

Misschien niet letterlijk van naam, maar wel Elag technischer maken.
Er zijn er genoeg die dat willen.
Ga bijvoorbeeld in april:

Have you done something interesting in the past year? Developed a
mashup, written a new script, figured out a new technique? Have you
successfully (or not so successfully) implemented a new kind of
software? Do you have a neat idea or a project, but no time to prepare
a full presentation or to write a paper?

If so, it's for you that ELAG conference now includes "lightning
talks", short 5-minute presentations on a specific topic. Participants
in the conference get to sign up on the first day to give one of these
presentations. Then, on one of the following days, they present their
development, their idea or their thoughts on their subject to all the
conference participants -- but in more than 5 minutes!

To give a lightning talk or to learn all about what colleagues have
been doing in the past year all over Europe, you have to be at the
ELAG 2009 conference in Bratislava 24-28 April. Register now for the
conference at http://indico.ulib.sk/elag2009.

NIcholas Morin uit Frankrijk (hij zit ook op de US code4lib lijst)
heeft interesse in een Europese code4lib conference, en had bij de
recent conference gezocht naar mensen die willen meedoen.
Lijk mij een heel goed idee om euro code4lib op ELAG te
'piggy-backen', het lijkt erop dat de focus grotendeels hetzelfde is.

Zou fijn zijn om naar ELAG te gaan, maar ik vermoed dat mijn
conference/arbeid ratio het niet gaan toestaan... ;-)

Ik begrijp het. Je bent net weggeweest. Ik geloof dat ze het dit jaar
ook weer video streamen, dus je kunt misschien wat meepikken. Al is het
niet als er zijn. Nicholas Morin even mailen over elag ?

Als ik me goed herinner werd dit idee ook al eens door je geopperd op de code4lib list vorige maand, toch? Zie thread Dutch Code4Lib. Heb deze discussie gesignaleerd aan Rosemie Callewaert (Bibnet Vlaanderen) die in de programmacommissie van ELAG zit en vermoedelijk op deze nieuwe list as well.
Ga zelf niet naar ELAG. Te veel deadlines rond die periode die voorrang behoeven...
