I think it's about time we added some more projects to our repertoire.
The current projects, in my opinion, suffer from a couple of issues
that make it difficult to hack on them in your spare time. They are
quite large, meaning you can't really get any sensible hacking done in
the 10 minutes before your bus comes. Also they've been generally
directed by things we'd like to work on, rather than things we'd like
to use, so we don't necessarily have a good feel for where the project
should be going.
To get around this I'd like to introduce a project (or two) that is
both small (on the scale of UNIX command line utilities) and fulfills
a need that one of us (or someone we know) has. For example,
organising your MP3 collection or filtering your email. OK, hit me
with your ideas. What problems have made you think "why can't my
computer do this?"?
