We need a leader for a 2017 Project: Open Budget Tulsa

Code for Tulsa Brigadiers,

As some of you know, our new Mayor - GT Bynum - is a strong supporter of both open data and measurable, results-driven governance. [1]

Nathan Pickard - Data Analyst and IT Auditor for the city - emailed me about adopting & deploying the Open Budget tool from Oakland [2] and OKC [3] in Tulsa.

Would someone here like to lead a project to work with Nathan Pickard, folks from Code for OKC, and some folks from Tulsa Data Science to publish an openbudgettulsa.org site?

As usual, Code for Tulsa, Techlahoma, and/or 36°N will host any and all meetings that need to happen.

So - would anyone like to help start this up for 2017?

[1] As city councilor, GT approached us to write Tulsa Open Data Resolution, and we worked with Amy Brown (now on staff in Mayor's office) to write it.

Whoever does want to jump on the budget project for Tulsa, I'd be happy to start the conversation at the next Hack Night on Jan. 3rd.
