Using non-traditional ActiveRecord ids

As we were discussing at the meeting. Non-traditional can be a string
or multiple fields or something other than the autoincremented id. I
found this:

Beyond that, there might be plugins that talk about using a UUID or
GUID for the primary key, but I didn't find those yet. Any other links?
