Subject: Job posting response

Fellow photographers
I was contacted directly and interviewed for this position earlier this week.
If you choose to pursue please take the following information seriously!!!
1) It posts as though you'd be doing the work but--They are in need of a consult on how to use their in-house "studio" light set up for a extensive inventory of Cell accessories.
2) Currently they shoot everything themselves and are having issues with their lights which are 3 7500k compact fluorescent bulbs in softboxes(I question that wattage). They don't understand white balancing or aperture settings (actually asked if there was something we could spray on the product to make it appear sharper).  Or how light work on reflective objects.
3) When we met they asked many questions and I was careful to explain enough to convince them of my expertise but not enough that I was talking myself out of the job. They were very excited and were talking about when I could start.
SO---my assumption since i haven't heard back from them is that they were not expecting the rated I quoted. It was more than fair!! I have two huge issues with this. FIRST that they did not have the professionalism to either notify me or counter my offer. SECOND if they didn't counter it is rather safe to presume that what they had in mind wasn't even close.
Do NOT UNDERESTIMATE YOUR VALUE!!!!! This is not a, "how to use the camera you got as a gift" lesson. This is "I paid good money for my education, can run lighting equipment and I'm worth every penny of my quote" lesson! Your studio lighting classes did not come cheap and neither should your self worth! (Never mind the price of gas and the haul out to Joliet!)
So I give you fair warning and wish you the best should you still wish to pursue.
If you would like to contact me directly please feel free to do so at li...@lisavaughnphotography.com
Thanks
Lisa
