Video works great, Audio works great, they're just not "synced"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.5.5 on linux 3.3.7-030307-generic

Please provide any additional information below.
How do you sync audio with video properly?

Note that I'm setting volume to 0 since I'm obviously not able to use it
properly.
