I am Arun Raj Urs.V, aged 52 years, living in Mysore, Karnataka State,
India, and working as Asst Professor in a private college. I have a
coconut farm and I am interested in generating more revenue from it.
The international price of coconut oil has a bearing on the lumpsum
price that is offered to me for contracting (for a period of 13
months) to buy my produce. Monitoring the coconut oil price will help
me decide which is the right time to contract for the sale of my
produce. Secondly, I am looking for the latest technology and
machinery for extraction of coconut oil. Manufacturers of branded
coconut hair oil are charging a very high price. Since last two years
I am finding it is much cheaper to extract oil at home for my use (as
hair oil and to light the lamps in the prayer room everyday). I feel
there is good potential for establishing small extraction units in
coconut growing areas and market the product in the surrounding area,
thereby avoiding high transportation costs and overheads which make
the branded hair oils very expensive.Thirdly, increasing the yield of
coconuts is an other concern. Coconut farmers are not getting good
returns as there is no value addition. Coconuts can fetch higher
returns only when they are sold in the form of coconut oil - packaged
and branded.

Hello My name is Guenter Ziegler, I live on the island of Borneo in
Sabah. We are going to by a land. This Land is a 30 year old coconut
plantage therefore we would like to know more about various coconut
usage eg. nut, processing of coconut cheese and butter, wood,
charcoal, gasefier.

mistaking Sabah on the island of Borneo as Indonesia instead of
Malaysia. I was on too much of a hurry - as shown by the careless
