Werecently asked our Associates to think about one building, in their respective communities, that they would love to redesign. In part one of this two part blog, Aaron Bell, I-Shan Tam, Eric Phillips, Jesse Pointon and Mark Hensler shared their thoughts about redesigning Urban Gas Stations, a personal residence, 804 Penn Avenue, Dilworth Plaza SEPTA headhouse and the Post-Gazette building. If you missed it, click here to check it out!
Unfortunately, these buildings rapidly became obsolete as demand for telephone service increased, and they were replaced by progressively larger buildings with fewer and fewer windows as the 20th century progressed. In Pittsburgh, that meant the construction of a 21-story Art Deco tower on the adjacent lot, with the original building relegated to housing telephone equipment. The handsome street level entrance and storefront was replaced with lifeless brick infill, creating a dead zone in the streetscape. Fortunately, the intricate detailing of the original brick and stonework is in remarkably good shape.
If I had to redesign a building in Philadelphia, I might take on the Symphony House. I think I would try to simplify the form a bit. The podium base responds well to the scale of the surrounding landscape, but I believe a simple, modern tower above the base with a more subdued palette might fit better on this part of Broad Street.
I can imagine Western State Penitentiary becoming a mixed-use development (along an extended light rail that goes to the airport!) that could include housing, hospitality, cultural uses, and community functions. I also think it would be amazing for a building that formerly served to incarcerate people to have educational components meant to support youth in nearby underserved communities.
For this entire review you ran the Stradas full range and never tried them the high pass speaker wire connections? Amp to sub, sub to stradas. This is hard to believe. I had the Strada/TR-3 sub woofer combo in a dedicated listening room for over a year and using the high pass crossover is the preferred method both Gallo here in the U.S and across the pond will suggest. And they are correct as it is superior in sound to the manner in which you experienced them. Are you saying you did not experience them in this manner? Very pedestrian if this is true.
Upper part STRADA - part with cutout on the headlamp. By models, where is necessary to install holders for headlight into the upper part is necessary to deliver to us original headlamp incl. not-damaged original holders.

The Societa Prototipi Bizzarini was founded in 1964 and immediately won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with its first prototype, the Grifo. In the same year, the contract with Rivolta expired, allowing Giotto Bizzarrini to acquire the rights to produce a lighter version of the Iso Grifo model and start its production under the Bizzarrini GT Strada brand.
The Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada kept its main features: a powerful 364 hp engine with Weber carburetor, independent front suspension on levers and springs with hydraulic shock absorbers, hydraulic power disc brakes and a 4-speed manual gearbox by BorgWarner.
The Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada has an aluminum body and is powered by a 5.4-liter Chevrolet Small Block V8 engine, characterized by lightness, maneuverability and high competitiveness. The Strada road version, especially appreciated by fans, represents the pinnacle of Italian design and engineering.
Thanks to the central front engine location and the rear-wheel drive, the engine is specially moved back from the front axle to optimize weight distribution and improve handling. The Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada, produced from 1965 to 1968, demonstrates the characteristics of a true racing car. With a lightweight aluminum body, modular chassis and semi-monocoque bodywork riveted to the frame, this advanced design, based on Bizzarrini's experience with the Ferrari 250 GTO, delivers impressive performance and superior handling.

Federico Fellini's "La Strada" (1954) tells a fable that is simple by his later standards, but contains many of the obsessive visual trademarks that he would return to again and again: the circus, and parades, and a figure suspended between earth and sky, and one woman who is a waif and another who is a carnal monster, and of course the seashore. Like a painter with a few favorite themes, Fellini would rework these images until the end of his life.
