That Big Nerd Ranch NDA workaround

During our last meeting I mentioned a workaround that Big Nerd Ranch used to be able to teach NDA'ed stuff to their students. I heard about it on this episode of the Edge Cases podcast, at about 19:40:

Later I came across this article on TUAW which I'm guessing is where Rentzsch heard of it:

Aaron told me this story when I was out at the Ranch in Atlanta - so I can confirm it personally as true.
