Hi Everyone,
My name is Celestine Sears, I am Recruitment Manager for an IT Search
Consultancy in Australia called The Ruby Group. I am currently
partnered with the world's largest online retailer (based in Seattle)
who is doing a massive recruitment drive in Oz for talented Developers
in the mobile and web services space. (Really sorry I can't give you
the name of the company - advertising guidelines restrict me. However
a simple Google search and you should be able to work it out).
Broadly speaking the project is a consumer driven application which
enables people to access personal digital assets through mobile/cloud
technology.
We have numerous positions currently available including:
Software Development Engineers - Web Services (will have worked on
best in class consumer web products, distributed systems, and web
services technology)
Software Development Engineers - iOS/Android (deep understanding of
iOS or Android (or both!) having worked on a top 25 Australian app)
Development Manager - Web Services (deep understanding of distributed
systems, web services, mobile and best in class consumer web products
- leading development of this brand new consumer driven app for the
global community)
Technical Program Manager - this is the king pin of the project.
Ideally someone who has come from a software engineering background
and has moved into a Project Management/Program Management role. A
technologist who will anticipate bottlenecks, and manage the teams and
coordinate the technical effort. You will have had experience in
mobile development, distributed systems and scalability on a very very
large scale.
These roles are based in Seattle and relocation costs and visa's will
be provided. You may be wondering why they are looking for Aussies. The
main reason is that we have a special trade agreement with the USA
which entitles Australian citizens to receive a special Visa called
the e3 Visa. The turnaround on getting one of these Visa's is super
quick (4 weeks) with the requirements that you have a Bachelor's
Degree or 12 years equivalent experience as well as being an
Australian citizen. Also, Australia has a lot of talent and is now
being seen recruitment wise as an "untapped pool" of super awesome
prospective employees.
Salary packages are very competitive and candidates who do relocate
will be very well looked after. Packages include base + stocks + full
dental, medical, healthcare and 401k (Super equivalent). Whilst being
a massive company the structure is very flat and teams are broken down
into smaller teams of 7-8 people. Their approach to work and the
culture in general very much has a start up feel to it.
I do have in depth job specifications that I can send out to
individuals who are interested. I'll also be attending the Melb & Syd
Cocoaheads in March (hopefully) to drum up more interest.
If you have any questions you can call me (02) 9016 4539, 0417948498
or email me direct -

Hopefully I have provided enough detail here to gauge some interest :)
Thanks
Celestine @ The Ruby Group
