After I finish a few projects, I'm going to embark on a March Madness Marathon of Cocoa Goodness. This will probably go though April, too, based on how much I have to relearn.

My goal is to spend four to six hours a day working my way through various Obj-C/Cocoa books, websites, podcasts, and more. I am going to blog every few days on my "Poet Ponders the Digital" Blogger site, which is about education and technology. I'll be sharing my missteps and my confusion along the way.

I'll post some of the backstory to the blog in a few days. For reasons I've shared with some CocoaHeads, I left private industry in 2004 to pursue a doctorate in visual rhetoric and "human factors" (interface design, user experience, usability, etc). In the last six years, I ended up far from active coding, not counting the time I spend in the LAMP world with Drupal, WordPress, and PKP/OJS sites.

If you really want to learn about coding, you need to code. Theory only gets you so far, and it might even hinder some aspects of programming.

If you have any suggestions or want to offer advice along the way, that would be great.

All the best,
Scott Wyatt
