My name is Chris Moore and I work with Loyal Source Government
Services. The reason I am reaching out to you through this Google
group is for networking purposes. We are currently looking to hire a
Mac Developer for a facility in Youngstown, OH. By chance, do you know
of anyone who may be interested in the position below? Your assistance

Position Overview:

Developer will assist the Mac Development team in the building of
TurningPoint, a PowerPoint-based polling solution. The Mac verion of
TurningPiont presents some interesting challenges, as native
intergration with PowerPoint 2011 for Mac is not directly supported.
The development environments are primarily Objective-C, Cocoa,
AppleScript, and Visual Basic for Applications.

Coding Responsibilities:

-Build VBA macros as part of a PowerPoint add in, responsible for
managing and controlling the slides, presentation, and Microsoft Graph
charting.
-Build a communication layer to activate VBA macros using Objectice-C
and AppleScript.
-Create a means of communicating slide data, events, and other
information from PowerPoint to the TurningPoint application, so that
TurningPoint can respond appropriately to user behavior.
-Create an easy-to-use framework based on the responsibilities listed
above, abstracting the TurningPoint-PowerPoint communication such that
cross-application communication is presented transparently.
-Collaborate on new resources to be shared between TurningPoint and
other Turning Technologies Mac applications.
-Test all written code on Mac OS 10.5, 10.6, and 10.7 when released.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Strong familarity with the following core technologies:
a. Cocoa
b. Objective-C
c. Core Foundation
d. Xcode
e. AppleScript
f. VBA, specifically for PowerPoint and Excel macros
g. XML

2. Familiarity with modern Cocoa/ Objective-C practices and other
technologies:
a. Delegation and Notifications
b. Properties and synthesized Accessors
c. Modern Mac UI Design and the Human Interface Guidelines
d. Core Data

3. Proficiency in the following:
a. Multithreaded Application Development
b. Cross Thread and Process Communication with and without
Distributed Objects
c. Web Services (mainly SOAP)

This is a 6 to 12 month contract position. Compensation is negotiable.
