What would be the next steps to get going again?  I can probably provide a space, if LeanDog’s not available/suitable.  Do we want to be presentation-driven, or discussion-driven, or some mix of the two?

I don’t know that I’m experienced enough to present, but would love to learn and/or participate in open discussions.

Thanks,

                Andy

It doesn't look like there's been much activity lately. Is this
group still active? Are the in-person meetings still happening?

Thanks,
Andy

I'd love the group to come back to life.

I just learned about the group at last month's Burning River
Developers meetup, where I talked to Jonathan Penn about it. It's a
shame that nothing's been happening; I'd like to take part in it.

Dave koziol of Ann arbors ch said the most important thing is consistency.

I talked to Joshua smith at cocoa Conf this weekend. He offered to join as well. He's from Akron so I asked about maybe meeting somewhere where folks can easily come from Cleveland or Akron like the old jug. He thought maybehudson might work.

In any case, we could look into choosing a day and location and start up again.

Independence feels a little more central than Hudson to me and may get both east and west side clevelanders.

Most meetups I've been to have been in more urban locations; I like
that this desire for access is pushing the location to be somewhere
where parking and greenery are abundant. ;-)

I held a straw poll in the car on the way back to Cleveland today, and
we (Randy, Joshua, Jonathan, and myself) all agreed that Independence
should be our first choice. I'll check with the facilities manager at
Oracle. They might be willing to let us have some meeting space.

I've heard back from the facilities manager at Oracle, and
unfortunately, they can not accommodate outside groups.

This is a ridiculous question, but I'll ask anyway.

<begin ridiculous question>
Does the Apple store at Legacy Village have a back room where we can meet?  I know parking there is usually bad, and it would be a stretch to get there from the west side, and it's an Apple facility.  And, we would be carrying our Apple products into an Apple store, and it's crowded, and so on... But, there might be some possible synergy there?
</end ridiculous question>

Ok, if not the Apple store, how about Guitar Center?  ;-)

That isn't a ridiculous question at all. Even though I'm not in Cleveland anymore, for what it's worth, the CocoaHeads group here in Chicago meets at the Apple Store on Michigan Ave every month, so meeting at an Apple Store is definitely feasible I would say.

If you have connections for either - that would be great

I agree with Justin, it's not a ridiculous question. Unfortunately, I
don't believe the store in Legacy Village has the space.

Cuyahoga Public Libraries have free meeting rooms, and there is a
branch in Independence.

I also have a request in with someone that may have meeting space for us on Rockside as well. If that doesn't work out, I'd be all for giving the library a try. A projector would be the only stumbling block at that point and worst case scenario, we could do a in-person webex-style presentation.

I thought CCPL provided a room with a projector at all locations? The
room at Independence, as well as the neighborhood, is nice. Same goes
for Beachwood, which is not in the target area, but has a huge room,
if necessary. The Parma-Snow branch is nearby, and could be a nice
backup in the case that Independence's isn't available. The locale
isn't as nice, but I live within walking distance of it. ;-D
