Apple's code seems to call BSKernelPreferenceChanged just after CFPreferencesSynchronize a lot of the times from their preference panes to trigger interested parties reloading their settings, any ideas what framework backs that or if there is another way for us to do the same after changing a system preference instead of telling the user to log out/restart ?
