How to start contributing

Hi, I am working as a Software Engineer at Paytm (India's leading eCommerce and payment platform). Its my first open source contribution, I started picking up issues from github but couldn't get to know the workflow. It would be great if workflow or design document could be shared. It would be convenient to start with the help of developers documentation.
