Hi,

The guys in twitter will already know this - I'm thinking about
holding a Cochin Ubuntu Launch Party this sunday. Yeah - its just
another excuse to do a tweetup - but its a good excuse. We can do a
Snow Lepord Launch the week after ;-)

Just to be clear, the ;-) after the last line means I was joking - if
anyone suggests that I should hold one, I'll hit him on the head ;-)

Just to be clear, the ;-) at the end of the line means was kidding -
I'm not hitting anyone. I'm non-violent.

Yeah, I'm a bit more verbose today - the people in BarCamp Kerala said
that I was in comprehensible ;-)

Just to be clear, the ;-) ... you get the idea.

Sorry about the shouting... ;-)

OH, the Win 7 lauch party idea was dramatic, see the LINUX guys are simply copying it, ok, mac users can follow.
Windows rocks, big time! :D

No Arun,

I asked about your comment on launch party. Not your opinion on Windows. (Any way I am not going to pay Rs.11K for that) :D

Arun,

Launch parties were a tradition of various *nix distros and *BSDs.  Its Microsoft which copied the concept. For FLOSS guys, its part of the community culture that upholds sharing. There were launch parties even for desktop environments, not only for distros. If you check smc's archives, you could see the call for KDE launch parties conducted, long before. So its not from the windows launch party that Binny got the idea. Its the other way around.

Wow, that was something, thanks. But I strongly guess Binny got this thing from the win7 party. ;) (*kidding)

Hi,

I'm thinking Sunday(1st November), 5 PM, usual place. How does that
sound? If you don't like the time/date/place, feel free to suggest
other time/date/place.

Hi,

People, the #CULT(Cochin Ubuntu Launch Tweetup) was suggested as a
joke. But some people can't understand a joke. So, I'm holding it. If
you want proof...

-----------------------------------------------------------
Original Tweet...
============
binnyva: I'm waiting for the release too. We should hold a Ubuntu
Release Party in Cochin ;-)

My response...
===========
Guys, I was joking about the Ubuntu Launch party as indicated by the
;-) after the tweet. But if you want it, we'll hold it. Please confirm
http://twitter.com/binnyva/status/5176468324

Their response:
crazyjibin @binnyva Idea is awesome ! Yet another (excuse) reason to
hold a tweetup !
http://twitter.com/crazyjibin/status/5176513284

hallucinations @binnyva We took it seriously. ;) i'll be there if
anything such happens.

zeqox @binnyva i'm in too.. let the joke turn into a reality

VineetBhatnagar @binnyva Cool. Looking forward to it. Thanks.

chickooiyer @binnyva i am also there for the ubuntu bash :)

----------------------------------------------------------------

That's the whole story. Its not my fault - I did not copy anyone. The
root cause is people who can't understand a joke. Tubelights. Your
tubelightishness is documented - with evidence and all.

Consider yourselves lawyered! (only HIMYM fans will get that).

PS: In case you are a tubelight, this whole email is intended as a
joke. Don't take anything seriously.
PSS: In case you don't get the joke, the last 'PS' is an attempt at meta-humor.
PSSS: And the last PSS: is meta-meta-humor.
PSSSS: And so on - ad infinitum...

Yeah, now they'll say that they can't understand anything I say.

Tubelights emit brighter light and are energy efficient.
So, take it as a compliment. ;-)

@Syam, thats a good way to look at it, afterall he didnt call us BULB (As in the energy conservation advertiment)

By the length of the email and the details Binny have included, see how much interested he is into it ;)

Sure - I can do that.

About the agenda suggestion, you can make non-linux suggestions as well.

I have already downloaded it. I'll bring the ISO to the meet. If
anyone brings a laptop/usb stick/etc. I'll share it. I'm not sure if I
can write CDs for everyone.
