Help with compounds production

Hello everyone

I am evaluating ethanol and xylitol production in a yeast model. Production of these two metabolites occurs under anaerobic conditions. When I change the conditions to anaerobic with biomass maximization as the objective function, the model forms biomass but is not produce the metabolites of interest. I tried placing the maximization of the exchange reactions of ethanol and xylitol as an objective function, and it forms the compounds, verifying that there are no gaps in the metabolic pathways.

On the other hand, going back to the biomass equation as an objective function, other unwanted compounds are formed, so I block the exchange reactions of those metabolites. I get ethanol but not xylitol, and the growth rate decreases.

Can anyone help me with any suggestions? I would appreciate it.
