Open source QP solvers

Hi Cobra peeps,

Just wondering if any of the QP solvers that Cobratoolbox is compatible with are open source. Also, is there a list of functions that require QP solvers? If one isn't available I was planning on writing a wrapper that can integrate with Cobratoolbox. Any help will be very useful.

Hi Chintan,

pdco is os and can solve QP problems, but it is v. sensitive to problem structure. There are probably more appropriate options here:

https://github.com/qpsolvers/qpbenchmark

Select from one of the non-commercial solvers that already has a matlab interface and solves a large fraction of problems successfully, as opposed to a solver that is fast but does not solve many problems. 

This one may be interesting:

https://github.com/PREDICT-EPFL/piqp

Writing an interface and testing it would be a valuable contribution towards COBRA v4.
