Snowy egret paddling Arapahoe county

I glanced at my pond this afternoon and was surprised to see a snowy egret paddling across the pond. I wish I had seen it get into the water. It took off shortly after video ends and went to the side of the pond. Common behavior? I’ve never seen it before.
