We hit our 500th bird banded for the season today! Although we had no rarities here like we did yesterday, it was still a productive day with 39 captures. We caught our first Audubon's Warbler for the year, so they're starting to move through. I also caught another Veery, and know that a few birders are interested in seeing the Veery as well. Thank you to the CFO group out of Denver for stopping by and giving me some sustenance at the end lol!

Chico captures for 9/15:
Wilson's Warbler 21
Warbling Vireo 1
Audubon's Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 1
Chipping Sparrow 1
Lincoln's Sparrow 3
Swainson's Thrush 3
White-crowned Sparrow 2
Veery 1
Green-tailed Towhee 2
Brown Thrasher 1
Blue Jay 1
Gray Catbird 1
Indigo Bunting 1

We are open 6 days a week at Chico Basin Ranch (closed Sunday), usually returning from the first net run around 7am and staying open until about 11:30am, weather permitting. Thank you for your continued support!
