Observed this bird initially under the footbridge just west of the library in Golden at 9:30 am. Watching it, I noticed it was holding it's beak open most of the time, as if it was a bird experiencing a hot day, even though it was only 45 degrees Fahrenheit. I also noticed the feathers on the left side of it's head above the eye were disturbed, looking like an injury. See close-up pics. Otherwise, seemed to be getting around ok and feeding.
