Howdy from SW CO!

Simon Draw immediately east of Totten Lake: 2 Virginia Rails and 2 Avocets observed with scopes from area closure gate. Note: active Bald Eagle nest at gate is close by. Please park 100 yards west at first fence and walk down to gate to minimize disturbing eagles.

Totten Lake: 2 Sandhill Cranes, 4 Hooded Mergansers, 6 Franklin's Gulls, 4 California Gulls observed from overlook.

Thomas Preserve: 1 Wilson's Snipe.

Centennial Park pond Cortez: pr. Wood Ducks.

Many duck species well represented currently at Totten, Simon Draw, and McPhee.
