Just before sunrise a flock of about 150 Bohemian Waxwings flew out of Ken Caryl Valley, heading east for the Massey Draw gap in the Dakota hogback. There are many crabapples at Ken Caryl, but I haven't seen much fruit on them here and I've not seen the waxwings feeding. I guess that group roosted in the Ken Caryl Valley and was commuting out to feed in town.

Shortly after sunrise an adult Northern Goshawk was moving through my neighborhood. I had seen one in the prior week, as well, probably the same. They appear unpredictably (and sparsely) here at Ken Caryl.
