CO birders :
I took two birding friends from Virginia to Chico Basin Ranch ( fee area ) this afternoon to look for Ladder-backed Woodpecker which we did see around HQ . On the way in and out several harriers , light phase juv Rough-legged Hawk , dozen Lapland Longspurs . HQ Pond ( Pueblo County ) was ice free and amongst selection of waterfowl an immature Trumpeter Swan . Lots of tumble weed clogging fences and piled up around buildings .
