to Colorado Birds
Impatient for birding and herping, I took a late afternoon/early evening trip out on back roads in Lincoln County this afternoon.
Of note:
-FOS Vesper Sparrows, in groups of 8-10.
-a dead Peregrine Falcon. It was next to a Quonset hut with numerous Rock Pigeons inside, so my guess is it misjudged a dive and hit the building.
-a sizable colony of Burrowing Owls, at least 8 seen in a fairly quick scan.
-a Golden Eagle
-FOS House Wren.
Of non-avian note: an unusually grumpy Prairie Rattlesnake.
