No surprise that we were rained out on Tuesday. But the nets pretty much dried out over night and we were up and running on schedule this morning. Again caught a good number of birds for this station, with 30 new and 1 return:
Western Wood-pewee 5 (FOS)
Least Flycatcher 1
Dusky Flycatcher 2
Northern Rough-winged Swallow 1
House Wren 4
Swainson's Thrush 3
Gray Catbird 2
Virginia's Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 1 new, 1 banded in 2014
MacGillivray's Warbler 3
Common Yellowthroat 3
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Lincoln's Sparrow 1
Red-winged Blackbird 1
Brown-headed Cowbird 1
Open daily, weather permitting, through June 2, EXCEPT for May 30. It is almost always better to visit early in the morning. We are opening nets at 6:30, and most days will have birds back at the station by 7:15. There are school groups every weekday, arriving about 9:45. We aim to close by noon most days, earlier if it is very hot, very cold, or very windy.
