Two Cliff Swallows arrived yesterday (FOS) at the bridge where they've been nesting for the past decade or more, just south of Blue Mountain Elementary School in west Longmont (Boulder County). This is pretty typical. Usually, a couple of scouts arrive a week or so before the rest of the males show up. The females arrive within another week of that. Bye-bye, mosquitoes!
A gorgeous unbanded male Osprey arrived at the nesting platform on N 75th, south of Nelson Road sometime last week while I was down in Texas looking for warblers. No sign of a female yet.
