We had a quiet morning, banding 28 birds. We had a higher ratio of repeats (14 total), including some more of the Wilson's that we banded on our huge day on Tuesday. No new species.
We did have a nice mix of species - visitors got up close looks at 5 of our most common warbler species along with other goodies. Here's the breakdown on the new birds:
Western Wood-pewee 1
Least Flycatcher 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 2
Northern House Wren 2
Gray Catbird 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 3
MacGillivray's Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 3
Wilson's Warbler 12
Savannah Sparrow 1
We are open Tuesday through Saturday, weather permitting, through October 23. Most weekday mornings there is a visitor session from 7:30 to 8:30, and on the weekends there are sessions at 8, 9 and 10 a.m. Reservations are needed;
