Another hot morning, and our slowest day of the season for new birds.  We banded 20 birds, but caught another 25 that had been banded previously this season.  20 of those were Wilson's Warblers.....when you've caught 364 in 11 days there are bound to be a bunch still around, trying to put on enough fat to continue their journeys.

Here are the 20 new for the day:

Willow Flycatcher 1
Northern House Wren 3
Gray Catbird 1
Yellow Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 2
Wilson's Warbler 12

We are open Tuesday through Saturday, weather permitting, through October 23.  Most weekday mornings there is a visitor session from 7:30 to 8:30, and on the weekends there are sessions at 8, 9 and 10 a.m.  Reservations are needed; here is the link.   Please join us......It is a great year to visit Barr!
