What started off as a slow morning turned into a fruitful late-morning as the heat became more intense. We had 40 captures of 23 different species, and 7 new species for the season. There was a huge amount of activity around the nets beginning at 10 AM, with a large amount of Wilson's Warblers, Yellow Warblers, and Orange-crowned Warblers hopping around at eye level. New species included a Black-and-White Warbler. Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Cordilleran Flycatcher, Indigo Bunting, Plumbeous Vireo, Ovenbird, and Western Tanager. Shoutout to Erik on a first great day of volunteering and thank you to all the members of MAMBO for stopping by the station (and thanks for the scones, too! ^-^)
