Cape May Warbler Manitou Lake Teller County

This afternoon amidst sleet and drizzle and a winter storm brewing around the Pikes Peak region, a brilliant male Cape May Warbler provided most accommodating views along Trout Creek below the Manitou Lake spillway. The bird was working along a beaver dam snatching small midges hatching from the creek when the park closed at 5 pm. Those seeking to see if it still around in the morning may want to check road conditions. The park opens at 8 am(fee $7).
