Sparrow season is upon us and the white-crowns have started to make their way here in the numbers. We have had a few adults of both the oriantha and gambels ssp., but today we got our first hatch year Gambel’s. We also got our first Clay-colored Sparrow and a surprise visit from an adult male Cooper’s Hawk. We found him in the net thankfully with no other passerines nearby or in the net. We’ll see if these storms along the Rockies will bring any new migrants our way.
