Common Gallinule was observed at Running Deer/Cottonwood Hollow Natural Area this morning (July 1) at 7:45 a.m.
The bird was foraging in an opening among the reeds. There is a empty nesting pole in the center of the marsh. I observed the bird while standing on the access road about 50-100 feet south of the pole. Look to the open water that is southwest of the nesting pole.

Is anyone refinding this bird today? I have time to make a trip up there if it is, but I'd like to know before I commit to it. Thanks,

Eric

I just left after 2.5 hours (left around 12:15pm) & it had not been seen at that time. Lots of people looking.

Just spotted the Gallinule sneaking through the cattails at Running Deer NA. It was in the same general area Rob described yesterday, the south end of the main, front marsh.
