Possible Mallard x Mexican duck?

Not being entirely familiar with the Mexican Duck or the possible hybrids, would like thoughts on this bird. Seems like it has many Mallard traits intact. Seen on the Arkansas River today in Canon City. Possible Mallard x Mexican Duck?

That's what it looks like. Was it on my part of the Riverwalk for the Penrose CBC? 9th Street to Raynolds. Anything else I should look for there.
