Tanager data, El Paso County

COBirders,

 

We have at house 1-2 days each spring that are a “tanager migration day.” It was this afternoon - a minimum of 4-5 males and 4-5 females at the feeder (hard to count), hanging around and gorging. Prior to today, only had one male a week ago.

 

It’s an interesting question re how these birds move, pulse, and gather during migration to best their lot (i.e., it’s not a steady stream, but there must also be some other species-specific collaborative factors…..).

 

I can think of about 10-20 interesting scientific questions, but for now it’s some great formative data and wonderful to have these birds moving through!
