In west Fort Collins: In the two days that Dixon Reservoir/Pine Ridge Swamp (er, Natural Area) was open, I was able to go yesterday morning. This area had been closed all last week, which I have to admit makes reading the reports from down south pretty painful. (I also stopped by briefly this morning, but assume it will soon be closed again.)
Anyhow, Dixon was still very wet, and getting all the way into the woods would have required a canoe. It was also fairly birdy, especially in contrast to the last time there was access. Among the avian attendees were
Black-throated Gray Warbler (1)
MacGillivray's Warbler (2-3)
Yellow Warbler (several)
Wilson's Warbler (2-3)
Yellow-breasted Chat (1)
Several empids and a Warbling Vireo.
Retreating to the paved trail at Spring Canyon Park to the east of Dixon, there was a Northern Waterthrush, a Wilson's Warber, and at least half-a-dozen empids.
Cheers,
