A couple of hours of scouring No Thoroughfare Canyon this morning turned up quite a few Black-throated Sparrows, an ironic twist on the absence of the Black-chinned family previously reported.  I assume we were searching the correct area, but they simply weren't there this morning.  (We were on the No Thoroughfare trail, where it crosses a deep arroyo, up and down the arroyo both ways, up the trail another 1/2 mile, and up and over the little plateau to the left (south) of the trail).

Upon seeing yet another of many Black-chinned Hummingbirds buzz by, I mentioned off-handedly to Deb that there was a Black-chinned over there a minute ago...  "What?!"  Oh... not the sparrow...  Sorry....

The good news was that we found the previously reported Gray Vireo, which was a new one for us.  Also of interest in the canyon today:

Rock Wren
Canyon Wren (heard)
Western Tanager
Pinyon Jay
Juniper Titmouse
Cassin's Kingbirds
Lark Sparrows
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
1 Empid, presumed Gray Flycatcher
Say's Phoebes
Gambel's Quail (heard)
