I took a walk around Golden Ponds and through Rogers Grove to Boston Avenue yesterday. There was Yellow Rump fallout between the two westernmost ponds. League estimated about a hundred males with a few immature is mixed in, moving northwards and feeding along the St. Vrain.

Also at the ponds: 1 Common Yellowthroat make and possible female, 3 Belted Kingfishers in an epic territorial display, and two pair of Blue Wing Teal mixed in with numerous Mallards.

Roger's Grove was full of American Robins and we headed over to Boston Avenue to take a look at the osprey nest at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. While watching the Osprey, we heard a Wood dDuck. Sure enough, a pair of Wood Ducks was moving in and out of the cat tails in the pond just east of the Osprey nest. Also in that pond was a female Common Merganser.

As of yesterday afternoon, there was only one Great Horned owlet left in the nest at 75th and Nelson west of Longmont. The other two are in the branches and difficult to find now.
