Eastern Bluebirds - Douglas

In the woods across Castlewood Canyon Road from the McClain Pit, we heard a mystery call, sort of like a more musical American Wigeon. After 5 minutes, we finally saw the source: a pair of Eastern Bluebirds. They moved together, and first the male & then the female inspected a hole (at the north end of the woods).

Otherwise, normal species at McClain, Walker Pit, and the Mitchell Gulch trail (though it sparkled with a singing Canyon Wren).
