Hi all:
The Brant is still at the Monte Vista NWR near Monte Vista
(Rio Grande County). This morning it was feeding in the grainfields off the
turnout on the 8S road. A scope is recommended. This bird appears to be lost and
is out there feeding with a few scattered Canada Geese, one Cackler, and a few
remaining cranes. Makes you wonder how it got here in the first place and where
it might end up. Aaahh, the mystery of bird migration.
