Hello COBirders,
I visited Jackson Reservoir this afternoon
and found some of the shorebirds mentioned by Joey Kellner & Mark Miller a
week ago, including American Golden-Plover.
Three flocks of Sandhill Cranes flew
overhead--a Bald Eagle too, which riled the shorebirds.
A good place to scope is
north of point 17 on the dam wall per Mark Miller, where wall repairs are in
progress. I hopped over the wall and stepped down the dam blocks with caution to get a little closer.
I also hiked the west side of the reservoir,
about three miles one-way, where I noticed a few pinkish Franklin’s Gulls and a
couple of AMGP.
