Today was the slowest day of our first week. Our daily totals have pretty much been driven by Wilson's Warblers and, to a lesser extent, Yellows and House Wrens, all of which were down today. It seemed like the hottest and most humid morning we've had. Tomorrow is forecast to be cooler; hope that happens!
Here's today's 33 new and 1 return:
Hammond's Flycatcher 1
Dusky Flycatcher 1
Western Flycatcher 1
Black-capped Chickadee 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1
Northern House Wren 2
Golden-crowned Kinglet 1
Yellow Warbler 5 new, 1 return banded in 2023
Townsend's Warbler 1
Wilson's Warbler 17
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Song Sparrow 1
We are open Tuesday through Saturday, weather permitting, through October 23. Most weekday mornings there is a visitor session from 7:30 to 8:30, and on the weekends there are sessions at 8, 9 and 10 a.m. Reservations are needed;
