Well, we certainly tried to band some birds this morning, but the rain had other plans. We were only open for about an hour before a large downpour began at 8am and decent showers continued into the afternoon. Though, even with the short time open, we managed to get 5 birds banded, including our second Common Yellowthroat (adult male).
5 Newly Banded Birds:
Common Yellowthroat: 1
Northern House Wren: 1
Lincoln’s Sparrow: 1
Wilson’s Warbler: 2
0 Recaptured Birds
The station will operate tomorrow from ~6:30a-noon (weather dependent). Rain in the forecast may halt operations.
We’re located at Ridgway State Park (Dallas Creek entrance). Turn left and park at the end of the road at the confluence parking lot. We are located on the on the east side of the walking bridge. Feel free to stop by when we’re around!
