Northern Goshawk, New Yard Bird, El Paso Cty, 1/7/15

Hi, all.

 

On returning from the dentist this noon, Jeanne said, “You will never guess what was in the back yard a while ago – a Northern Goshawk.”

 

When I checked my email a few minutes later, there was a note from Mark Peterson who lives nearby saying he had the bird there this morning. We have seen it again, probably chasing our PLENTIFUL Collared and White-winged Doves.

 

It was the 105th species for our yard list.

 

See, the snow and fog is good for at least one thing!
