Hi all!

Got some outside time this weekend by camping at Jackson Lake. The lake is pretty full of water. Lots of pelicans! Boat activity was heavy. Friday night, we heard two eastern screech owls trilling and four great-horned owls calling, all after midnight (north end of lakeside campground). Did not hear the screech owls Saturday night.

The best treat was five long-billed curlews foraging in and near the prairie dog colony to the north and west of the Fox Hills campground area. One flew right over our car!

Also nice was a large flock of snow geese, a small flock of sandhill cranes, and a couple of Bonaparte’s gulls

Good birding,
