I tried posting this update yesterday but it was deleted twice so here goes! We had quite the exciting day with a variety of different visitors. The heat became intense very quickly so we had to close early, as it was 92 degrees by 10:40 AM. We caught a very spry hatch-year Sharp-shinned Hawk! We had a total of 42 captures, bringing the cumulative total for this fall up to 382 captures. I’d like to thank Kara for being an awesome volunteer, as well as Virginia and John Maynard who helped out as well, and thanks to all the other birders that showed up! (Risa, John, Joan, Tim, Jim)!
I think I’m starting to remember all of your names!
