Many of us have two way radios, but only use them on long caravan field trips.
How about another use?
Charge yours up and toss it in the car when you are on a (wild?) goose chase.
That might be be helpful when you seek a gander at a goose.
And one more tip...remember to turn it on. The setting birders use is "11 22".

Great reminder, Joe! I’m going to hold vigil tomorrow morning early at the Larimer Co landfill for the Gyrfalcon. If anyone else is doing the same and has a radio, I will have mine turned on.
