Pella Crossing and Surrounding Areas

  • May 9, 2018 08:30am - 12:00pm
  •
  • Pella Crossing

Leader: Ray “Davis”

Take a bird watching hike in this area that was badly flooded in 2013, but now reopen to the public after major restoration. This series of ponds and marshes can be very productive, especially as we near the height of spring migration. You should find an assortment of water birds including waders, duck, coots, mergansers and pelicans. Common passerines include waxwings, nighthawks and kingfishers. There is a large Great Blue Heron Rookery and many a raptor sailing overhead.

Meet at the Pella Crossing parking lot on the east side of 75th Street, just south of Hygiene. For information, feel free to call or email Davis: 303 823 5332 or davisb...@gmail.com
