All:
        Lots of waterfowl are assembling on East Lake (East Lake Park) in Thornton.  I only had binoculars, so somebody with a good scope may be able to pick out some rarities if you visit.  Listed below are minimum counts.  Remember that species are coming in and out in droves - so what you see one day, may not be there the next day.  Counts were done on 11-4-25, midday.   Note:  port-a-potty is available on York Street parking area near Lake Village Park, to the north, across 128th.  Best viewing is on the northeast side, due to sun glare.

Great Blue Heron - 1 - EL
Canada Goose - 40+ - EL (no Cackling yet)
Mallard - scant, only 4 = EL
Gadwall - 50+ - EL
American Wigeon - 300+ - EL
Northern Shoveler - only 1 - EL
Redhead - 200+ - EL
Ring Necked Duck - 200+ - EL
Lesser Scaup - 100+ - EL
Bufflehead - 60+ - EL
Red Tailed Hawk - 1 Immature - EL
American Coot - 150+ - EL
Ring Billed Gull - 40+
Eurasian Collared Dove - Pr
Northern Flicker - Pr
Blue Jay - Pr
Black Billed Magpie - Pr
American Crow - Pr
Black Capped Chickadee - Pr
White Crowned Sparrow - 2 - EL, west side of lake
Red Winged Blackbird - 100+ - EL
House Finch - Pr
COMMON GRACKLE - 2 - at Lake Village Park, across the street to the north
European Starling - Pr

Conspicuously absent:  Rock Doves
